Olive (Olea europaea L.), originated from Upper Mesopotamia, which also includes Southeastern Anatolia. There are many olive varieties whose morphological and biological properties are not well known. Some of those identified by their morphological and biological characteristics have some variations depending on unknown genotypic or phenotypic causes.
Growers choose the best varieties to work best on their trees. In this study, the trees of some standard Turkish varieties (Ayvalık, Domat, Gemlik, Halhali, Kilis Yağlik, Manzanilla, Memecik, Nizip Yağlik and Rabbit Heart) diagnosed only by their morphological characteristics were selected (genetic polymorphism with RAPD (genetic polymorphism). Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA)-PCR technique 14 primers (Operon Technologies) were used and the results were confirmed by 3 replications.
