Consumers' awareness of the effects of olive oil on human health

The olive oil culture inherited from the Romans has been protected and enriched by the Turks throughout history. Dishes in Turkish cuisine prepared using olive oil have spread widely to districts and villages and have formed the basis of our food culture.

Although dishes prepared using olive oil are accepted all over the world today, the use of olive oil in the preparation of dishes in Turkey can be strengthened. Despite being one of the biggest global players in olive oil production, Turkey consumes less olive oil than it produces. On the other hand, Turkish cuisine is the only cuisine in the world that has a food group for dishes prepared with olive oil.
